My Story

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always been drawn to cameras. My first camera was a small toy camera. It was a bright green “Spy Camera” that took terribly low quality photos, but I was obsessed with it. I took photos of everything and since it was a digital camera, I could immediately hook it up to my dad’s laptop and see my most recent works of art.

In high school, although my school offered film and photography classes, I never pursued them because I was influenced by my family to pursue a traditional path. Go to high school, graduate, go to college, graduate and get a comfortable and stable job. Obviously, things did not go as planned.

While in college I really tried to fit the mold of a good student. I went to class, turned in my work, and got decent grades. The year before I was going to transfer, I got a Work-Study job in the marketing department of my college. In this position, I was the often juggling jobs as a graphic designer and the sports photographer for the school. Needless to say, photography especially caught my eye. That job made me realize that I could be a photographer and make a living out of it. There was a new path that opened up for me and I took it.

Since then, I dropped out of college and decided to pursue photography full time. I spent a lot of my earlier time focusing on lifestyle portraits of my friends or coworkers. Once in a while I would go on a hike and get some landscape photos and eventually I shot my first wedding.

Photography has definitely changed my life for the better. I am extremely happy to be able to have career that allows me so much creativity and freedom, yet still challenges me every day. I would like to use this passion I have to photograph your special event or give you fantastic head shots, because I believe you will see the difference.
